Mactracker + iCloud Drive
System Requirements
Mactracker 8.0 and later for Mac includes support for iCloud Drive to store and access your "My Models" entries on your other Mac computers. Mactracker 8.0 requires macOS 10.14 Mojave or later. Please note that iCloud Drive support is currently a public beta.
Enabling iCloud Drive Support
iCloud Drive support can be enabled (or disabled) in Settings. The first time iCloud Drive support is enabled on any of your Macs, Mactracker will upload the entries from that copy of Mactracker. When iCloud Drive support is enabled on your other computers, Mactracker will display the entries that have already been uploaded or created in iCloud. If you disable iCloud Drive support Mactracker will revert to using the previous local storage. The entries will remain in iCloud Drive and won't be automatically merged with your local data.
Importing Additional Entries
The first time iCloud Drive support is enabled on any of your Macs, Mactracker will upload the entries from that system. If you had multiple copies of Mactracker with different entries in My Models, you can export those entries and import them once iCloud Drive support has been enabled. That will consolidate all of your entries that you may have previously stored locally on different Macs. To export and import please follow these steps:
- In the main window, select one or more entries, and then choose File > Export My Model...
- Once you have enabled iCloud support, choose File > Import My Model..., and select the file from step 1.
Please note that the archive setting is respected when you are exporting/importing entries. You can import files created by Mactracker version 6.0 and later.
Troubleshooting
If the iCloud Drive option is not available in Settings, please check your iCloud configuration in System Settings. If iCloud is subsequently disabled on your Mac, Mactracker will revert to storing the entries in My Models locally.
